Offshore oil and gas digitalisation software provider Eigen has launched an app that provides real-time information and other operational data to digitally enabled offshore workers.

The app pairs with wearable devices and improves the productivity of offshore workers.

Lundin Norway has become the first user of the technology, which was developed by Eigen as part of a pilot with Honeywell.

Workers deploying the app have access to information by using search term entries.

Users will also have the ability to access real-time information about the equipment such as documentation, live performance data, equipment parameters, maintenance history or recently generated alerts or alarms.

Eigen used its ‘Ingenuity’ platform to build the technology.

According to the company, the platform is a smart layer that provides contextual linking on top of existing systems.

The new tool is designed to increase the operational efficiency of workers by eliminating the time required to understand status, while allowing engineers to focus on other important tasks.

“The Ingenuity platform enables the speed of innovation and solutions required to evolve and deliver new capabilities rapidly.”

Eigen CEO Murray Callander said: “The new solution enables today’s digitally enabled offshore workers with critical information available in real-time.

“Developed rapidly on top of our Ingenuity platform, it is a prime example of our commitment to remaining at the forefront of Industry 4.0 and helping our customers to become more efficient.

“The Ingenuity platform enables the speed of innovation and solutions required to evolve and deliver new capabilities rapidly.”

The company configured Ingenuity to run on Android-based wearables.

Eigen noted that the app is also available in iOS format on the App Store.

With offices in Aberdeen, Leatherhead and Baku, the company provides packaged software, systems integration, run support and custom enhancement.
