
UK-based oilfield services company Expro has signed an agreement with Norwegian downhole video and camera technology specialist Vision iO, in a move aimed at enhancing its cased-hole services offering.
Expro provides downhole video technology to the oil and gas industry through its downhole video (DHV) range, including the ViewMax, high temperature and standard memory cameras.
The agreement will allow the company to have access to Vision iO’s suite of camera technologies, including its WellCAM visual logging platform.
Expro well intervention vice-president Dave Bowman said: “I am extremely excited to conclude our partnership with Vision iO, which allows us to enhance our offering to customers by providing even greater camera functionality.
“This includes the very latest colour and high-definition camera technology, with simultaneous front and lateral imaging, bolstering our portfolio of downhole monitoring support for oil and gas applications.”
In addition to casing and well integrity monitoring, the company’s technology offering is used in various operations including, downhole inspection, operational verification and production monitoring for both onshore and offshore wells globally.

The technology comes with an internal storage capacity of 128GB and provides round-the-clock recording ability without switching from front to lateral view.
