Jacobs Engineering Group has secured a contract to provide engineering and project management services for an onshore central processing facilities (CPF) project at Saudi Aramco’s Zuluf offshore field in the Arabian Gulf.

The contract is related to the Zuluf field development programme’s Arab heavy (AH) crude oil increment project, which will give Aramco the ability to process 600,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd).

“Through this project, we will support Saudi Vision 2030 by helping expand gas production and enhancing energy sustainability.”

Jacobs Engineering Group’s petroleum and chemicals president Vinayak Pai said: “This landmark contract reaffirms our strong relationship with Saudi Aramco and our long-standing position in the Middle East.

“The Zuluf field is one of the most significant developments of its kind, and through this project, we will support Saudi Vision 2030 by helping expand gas production and enhancing energy sustainability.”

Under the contract, Jacobs Engineering Group’s work will cover the onshore central processing facilities, which will comprise a new gas/oil separation plant (GOSP), gas compression facilities, a new water injection plant and pipelines.

The new downstream pipelines will be used to transport stabilised crude oil from the GOSP to the Ju’aymah terminal, while the proposed Tanajib Gas Plant will receive separated gas and condensate streams through new pipelines.

Work on the Zuluf field development programme began in January this year. The contract is in line with Aramco’s strategy to diversify Saudi Arabia’s economy, expand gas production and localise domestic content.
