US-based firm Jacobs Engineering Group has signed an outline agreement for the provision of brownfields engineering and procurement services to Woodside Energy’s Karratha gas plant (KGP) in Western Australia.

The KGP integrated gas production system is part of a North West Shelf project, which is a joint venture between six major oil companies and accounts for more than one-third of Australia’s oil and gas production.

The contract will run for three years and build on Jacobs’ existing relationship with Woodside.

Jacobs Engineering Group energy, chemicals and resources president Vinayak Pai said: “Our proven track record of delivering long-term brownfields sustaining capital programmes across the world ideally positions us to support the entire program lifecycle for Woodside’s Karratha Gas Plant.

“Our experience in programme management and commitment to continuous improvement and digital solutions will help ensure Woodside’s programme is a success.”
