Expro metres

UK-based well flow management company Expro will provide non-intrusive multiphase production testing of onshore oil wells in Iraq.

Expro will use its SONAR metering technology to calculate the production of the wells. The company said that SONAR allows non-intrusive well production surveillance with a small footprint of equipment and small crews.

Expro Meters general manager Patrick Curry said that the contract shows technical and commercial acceptance of the company’s technology.

"Our small-footprint non-intrusive SONAR technology enables high-frequency, safe, flareless production testing, which is critically important to the redevelopment of these fields," he added.

Expro Middle East North Africa region director Selim Djandji said: "Expro is committed to the local communities where we work, including recruitment and training of indigenous workforce, delivering new technology to the Iraq oil and gas industry."

Expro started production testing operations in the Middle East in 2012, and has tested more than 500 wells in Iraq and over 1,000 wells globally with SonarTest since. It employs more than 5,000 people in 50 countries, and operates in every major hydrocarbon producing area globally.
