The company will provide services for phase 1 tranche 1 of the PSA development for the project’s surface facilities, located at Temane, 600km north of Maputo in Mozambique.

PSA development covers a contract area of 1,790km² and is central to Sasol’s development plans.

The project work also includes flowlines for the fields that are located next to Sasol’s and its partners’ existing Temane central processing facility.

"This award reinforces Amec Foster Wheeler’s position as a leading oil and gas service provider in Mozambique."

Amec Foster Wheeler previously completed engineering works for the project.

As part of the works, the company developed a ‘local content plan’, which produced a plan to increase the use of local Mozambican suppliers and contractors, as well as labour while executing the project.

Amec Foster Wheeler group president for Asia, Middle East, Africa and Southern Europe, Roberto Penno said: "This award reinforces Amec Foster Wheeler’s position as a leading oil and gas service provider in Mozambique.

"We have delivered many projects for Sasol and its partners in-country, including building the original Temane facility."

With the latest project, further hydrocarbon resources will be produced to support Southern African growth.
