Oil and gas firm Amerisur Resources has completed drilling the Platanillo-20 well in the Platanillo field, Colombia.
The well, which was drilled to a total depth of 8,357ft, is the fifteenth in the current drilling campaign of the Platanillo field.
The reservoir sections in the well indicated the presence of two oil columns that include U and T sand formations.
It has now been placed on production at about 400 barrels of oil per day from the T sand interval.
Amerisur will shortly submit an application for a long term test of the reservoir to the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH).
The company said successful testing of T sand, coupled with earlier T sand test in Platanillo-2, will likely convert prospective resources into 2P reserves in 2015.

By GlobalDataAmerisur Resources chief executive officer John Wardle said: "Platanillo-20 is another significant result for the company, with important implications for the overall reserves of the field.
"The test of the T sand was very positive, and since this test is located at some 1,700 metres from the only other T sand test, in Platanillo-2, it gives further support to our view of an important resource existing within that unit which we will continue to define and develop over the next years.
"The additional 3D seismic in the north of Platanillo is underway, and I am confident these new, high quality data will demonstrate significant structures to add to our already impressive forward drilling inventory."
