Design, engineering and project management consultancy Atkins has secured an A$19.3m ($17.18m) flow assurance contract on a major liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Australia.
The company has bagged the contract for the Ichthys project, which is located offshore of Western Australia and operated by international oil and gas E&P company Inpex.

According to the company, the project will collect gas from the Ichthys field located in the Browse basin, which will later on undergo preliminary processing by offshore facilities.
Through an 889km pipeline, the gas will be exported to onshore processing facilities in Darwin, Northern Territory and processed through an LNG processing plant.
As part of the contract, Atkins will provide services including flow assurance, systems engineering and ad-hoc process engineering support starting from execute stage till initial start-up for Inpex.
Atkins Oil and Gas business in Perth operations director Nick Wells said the four-year contract for the company draws on the experience from its Perth office in addition to its international hubs in the UK and Houston for a gas project.
