The aircraft’s cabin comprises 16 seats with the option of a high-density 19-seat layout. Its cockpit design is designed to reduce crew workload and improve safety and is claimed to incorporate advanced situational awareness technologies.

The main gear box of AW189 has a 50-minute ‘run-dry’ capability, meant for long-range operations.

To date, agreements have been signed for the supply of more than 150 AW189s worldwide.

In 2014, an agreement was signed with Russian state-owned oil and gas company Rosneft for the supply of around 160 aircraft.
