KBR has signed agreement to support BG Group in delivering its global oil and gas projects.
Both the firms have signed a global six-year single-partner alliance that has options to extend to around ten years.
KBR will provide technical support, services in both the pre-FEED and FEED stages, and project management expertise across BG Group’s worldwide upstream portfolio.
The company will provide a flexible resource that can be scaled to match the detailed needs of each project.
BG Group says that the alliance allows it to help minimise its fixed costs and retain access to technical expertise and support in a lower oil price environment.
The company, which operates in more than 20 countries, is undertaking material opportunities and projects in Brazil, Australia, Tanzania and the US.
BG Group chief operating officer Sami Iskander said: "The alliance will provide us with access to dedicated and proven third-party expertise and resources that can be tailored to specific projects.
"Importantly, it will focus on enhancing BG Group’s productivity and agility as we develop projects that will deliver the next phase of the company’s growth."
KBR president and chief executive officer Stuart Bradie said: "We are excited about this opportunity to continue our relationship with BG Group, while continuing to demonstrate our track record of safety, quality personnel and experience in the upstream market sector."
