Subsea services provider Bibby Offshore has secured a contract to provide subsea construction, remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and diving services to Apache’s oil field in the UK’s North Sea.
Set to begin this month. the contract will see Bibby Offshore provide its Bibby Topaz multirole diving support vessel, which is equipped with an inspection class ROV.
The project involves well tie-ins and spool change-out at the Aviat and Bacchus locations and also includes the associated pre-commissioning works.
It is planned to be conducted to tie back the subsea wells to the Forties Oil Field located 110 miles east of Aberdeen.
Bibby Offshore chief operating officer Fraser Moonie said: "This contract win, in a competitive market, further demonstrates the confidence our clients have in Bibby Offshore’s ability to successfully deliver subsea projects on time and within budget."
Earlier this month, Bibby Offshore was selected by a global energy company to provide first gas and construction support on its assets in the southern North Sea.

By GlobalDataDue to be executed between the third and fourth quarter this year, the company’s Olympic Ares construction support vessel and its diving support vessel Bibby Polaris will perform subsea engineering work 150km off the coast of Lincolnshire under the contract.
The work will be supported by the company’s onshore engineering team.
