BP Trinidad and Tobago (BPTT) has secured approval to develop the Juniper offshore gas project.
The project will feature the construction of a normally unmanned platform and the associated subsea infrastructure.
The Juniper facility will take gas from the Corallita and Lantana fields, located 50 miles off the south-east coast of Trinidad in water depths of about 360ft.
The project, which will feature five subsea wells, will have a production capacity of about 590 million standard cubic feet a day (mmscfd).
Gas from the facility will flow to the Mahogany B hub through a new 10km flowline.
Fabrication is expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2014 and drilling on the facility is scheduled to begin in 2015 with first gas planned in 2017.
