Acme West-1, which was drilled to a total depth of 4,742m, encountered 115m of net gas, while Acme West-2, drilled to 4,447m, encountered 56m of net gas.
The two wells, which were drilled in 3,035ft of water, are located in the WA-205-P permit area approximately 93 miles from Onslow.
Chevron vice-chairman George Kirkland said that the discovery represents the company’s 11th exploration discovery in Western Australia within the past 24 months.
