UK-based companies Claxton Engineering Services and LR Senergy have formed an alliance to provide end-to-end offshore rig-based decommissioning service to clients.
The companies have previously worked together on various global projects including platform installations, drilling operations and field work over programmes.
Claxton Engineering Services commercial vice-president Nick Wood said: "Combining Claxton’s decommissioning expertise with LR Senergy’s wealth of well engineering and project management capabilities will provide customers with access to a unique combination of experience and skill sets for all decommissioning scenarios."
The decommissioning offering by LR Senergy will focus on delivering safe rig-based solutions that are customised for clients’ specific requirements.

"By establishing this alliance, we can formalise this service offering to provide our customers with a range of fully managed, integrated decommissioning solutions."
The collaboration with LR Senergy, will allow Claxton to add rig-based decommissioning solutions to its decommissioning service portfolio.
The portfolio consists of platform, subsea, rigless and vessel based campaigns.
Claxton provides risers, wellhead removal, conductor severance and solutions to overcome integrity issues with platforms or older well infrastructure.
In October, the Acteon companies Claxton and Offshore Installation Services (OIS) have formed an alliance to improve decommissioning technology in a bid to deliver subsea well abandonment campaign.
