Exxon Mobil Corporation (ExxonMobil) is to acquire a 40% stake in PPL 374 and PPL 375 licences in the Gulf of Papua, Papua New Guinea, from Gini Energy Limited for an undisclosed amount.

Gini Energy is a subsidiary of CNOOC Limited. The PPL 374 and PPL 375 licences span an area of 24,936km², with water depths ranging from 1,000m-2,500m.

The deal will allow ExxonMobil to fortify its gas assets portfolio in Papua New Guinea.

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has agreed to spend $2.65bn to acquire 91 drilling blocks in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, US, from Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas LLC (FM O&G).

The purchase consideration will include a combination of cash, contingent payments and the assumption of future abandonment obligations associated with the assets.

The assets produce at a rate of approximately 80,000 net barrels of oil equivalent a day and hold estimated proved reserves of approximately 126Mboe.

Petoro AS has agreed to acquire a 20% interest in the Dvalin gas field (formerly Zidane field) from OMV (Norge) AS.

The Dvalin gas field in PL435 production license is located in the Norwegian Sea, 15km north-west of the Heidrun field and 35km south of the Skarv field.

The field is currently owned by DEA Norge (40%, operator), OMV Norge (20%), Maersk Oil Norway AS (20%) and Edison Norge AS (20%).

Upon completion of the deal, the field will be owned DEA Norge (40%, operator), Petoro (20%), Maersk Oil (20%) and Edison (20%).

The deal is scheduled for completion by the end of 2016.

RockRose Energy Plc has signed a deal to acquire non-operated interests in Wytch Farm, Scott and Telford fields in the UK from Maersk Oil North Sea (UK) Limited.

The fields currently produce at a rate of 2,000bpd. The deal will allow RockRose Energy to expand its oil assets portfolio in the UK North Sea.

Pura Vida Energy NL has announced its plans to farm-out interest in Nkembe block located offshore Gabon.

Located 30km off the coast of Gabon, the Nkembe block comprises Loba oilfield. It covers an area of 1,210km² in water depths ranging from 50m-500m.

The Loba field holds prospective reserves of 21.5Mboe.
