eDrilling and Petrovietnam University (PVU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for a long-term partnership to drive the digitalisation of drilling operations in Vietnam.
PVU provides high-quality research and training to the personnel of Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam).
PVU rector Dr Phan Minh Quoc Binh said: “Due to current shortages of skilled designers and engineers, particularly in the oil, gas and power industries, PVU desires to improve the knowledge and technical skill of its lecturers and students by adding drill well in simulator software solutions to our arsenal.
“This to help energy professionals at E&P companies, operators, and service companies save costs, improve safety, and increase efficiency of drilling operations.”
Under the MoU, eDrilling will provide its software solutions that encompass planning, training, real-time operations, analysis and learning of oil and gas operations.
eDrilling APAC Technical Services manager Derek Nadhan said: “Digitalisation is more than just digitising drilling operations, it is as much about building digital-ready organisations and capabilities.”
In July, eDrilling partnered with UIT Solutions to support the Korean upstream oil and gas companies in their drilling operations by providing integrated lifecycle drilling simulation solutions.
Under the deal, eDrilling provided planning, training, drilling and analytical solutions, while UIT was responsible for comprehensive advisory and project management support.
