Gasum has opened its Pori LNG import terminal in Finland, which provides access to LNG deliveries outside the gas pipeline network.
The company said that the opening of the new terminal will develop and diversify the Finnish energy market.
Gasum CEO Johanna Lamminen said that the option of LNG deliveries outside the gas pipeline network will reduce the threshold for gas usage throughout the country.
In 2014, the Finnish Ministry for Employment and the Economy granted €23m for the project, which involved an investment of more than €80m.
Gasum subsidiary Skangas supplied a total of 376,700t of LNG in Finland, Sweden and Norway in 2015.
It also has LNG production plants and terminals in Risavika, Norway, and Porvoo, Finland, and LNG terminals in Øra, Norway, and Lysekil, Sweden.
