GP Strategies has signed a $36m agreement to provide training, documentation and competency development services to support Kuwait National Petroleum Company’s (KNPC) clean fuels project.

KNPC’s clean fuels project has been proposed to upgrade the company’s existing refinery infrastructure and enabling it to supply better products.

As part of the project, the company’s Mina Al-Ahmad refinery and the Mina Abdullah refinery will be developed and expanded to refine 346,000bpd and 454,000bpd, respectively.

Following this, the capacity of the two refineries will be 800,000bpd.

"We are committed to a successful, five-year engagement with KNPC to support their workforce from commissioning through startup and in support of sustainable ongoing operations."

Under the agreement terms, GP Strategies will develop and deliver documentation and training for the refineries’ operations workforce to make them ready to operate the new and upgraded facilities.

Support will also be offered to the workforce through commissioning, initial startup and sustained, long-term operations.
