The vessel is designed focusing on the essential functionality for deepwater drilling.

Although ultra-deepwater units feature ever-increasing hook loads and capacities, these requirements can be reduced for a number of wells operating in deepwater.

"Drilling equipment packages of all major manufacturers can be integrated into the design."

Scylax has been designed based on these modified requirements that allow for different options in the design, helping reduce building and operating costs.

Scylax enables deepwater drilling in a compact design based on a single derrick or drilling mast set-up with offline stand building, dual BOPs, up to 10,000ft water depth capability, and ample capacity mud systems.
