Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard and US-based Black & Veatch have awarded an electrical and automation contract to Kongsberg Maritime for Golar Hilli Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG).
Under the contract, Kongsberg will deliver an electrical package and safety and automation system for Golar LNG’s conversion of the ex-LNG Carrier Golar Hilli to an FLNG production unit.
The electrical package to be supplied by Kongsberg includes high and low-voltage distribution boards, as well as transformers.
In addition, the company will engineer design and philosophy documents, as well as electrical analysis.
Kongsberg claims that the latest contract demonstrates the company’s capabilities and its position within the marine automation for offshore oil and gas production units.
