Statoil has awarded an order worth Nkr200m ($26m) to Kongsberg Maritime to deliver its technology for the company’s four platforms on the Johan Sverdrup field centre in the North Sea.
Under the deal, Kongsberg will deliver the safety and automation system (SAS), lifecycle simulator and SAS information management system for the platforms.
According to Kongsberg, the call-off order comprises delivery of hardware, software and system engineering competence, and is based on the project specific agreement for the oil field awarded in May 2014.
As part of the agreement, Statoil will also participate with integrated engineering services to various contractors for the field, while supporting installation, as well as commissioning of the delivered systems.
Kongsberg Maritime president Geir Håøy said: "The order demonstrates Kongsberg Maritime’s strong capabilities and our solid position within topside automation for offshore oil and gas production units, reflected in the market through significant contract wins."
Separately, Kongsberg secured a contract to deliver its technology for two new Eversendai offshore construction jack-up vessels owned by Vahana Offshore in Singapore and worth about Nkr125m ($16m).
