KrisEnergy has started a 300km 2D seismic acquisition programme in the Udan Emas production sharing contract (PSC) onshore West Papua, Indonesia.
Quest Geophysical Asia secured the acquisition programme, which is expected to take four months to complete.
The programme forms part of the work obligations under the PSC.
KrisEnergy plans to carryout aerogravity and magnetic surveys in the block, which covers 5,400km² over the Bintuni Basin gas province featuring various multiple-trillion-cubic-feet gas discoveries.
The company holds a 100% working interest and operatorship of the Udan Emas PSC.
KrisEnergy exploration & production director Chris Gibson-Robinson said: "This is a complex transition zone program in an extremely remote location encompassing rugged jungle-covered terrain and shallow waters in prime fishing territory.
