UK-based Lloyd’s Register and Norwegian oil services company Aker Solutions have signed a new global framework agreement to improve subsea oil and gas developments.
The agreement will enable Aker Solutions to further improve efficiency and helps the company enhance advanced technologies for the offshore oil and gas industry.
Aker Solutions Lead Group category manager Gaute Fardal said: "We are pleased to have Lloyd’s Register on board as a new group frame agreement supplier to Aker Solutions.
"Our expectations to the agreement are highly competitive priced services and further enhanced efficiency in our processes and product solutions."
Under the new contract, Aker Solutions will get access to all relevant services of Lloyd’s Register.
Services include inspection, compliance, certification and advisory/consulting services in risk management/HSEQ, engineering dynamics, asset integrity, drilling, wells and reservoirs areas.

"This is an important area for a company like Aker Solutions, where new innovations in areas like subsea processing can be critical for tomorrow’s leading oil and gas operators."
Lloyd’s Register will offer the technology qualification that provides a way for companies to prove their equipment will work within operational limits specified.
The agreement is valid for three years and can also be extended for another two.
