MMEX Resources has obtained Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s (TCEQ) approval to construct a crude distillation unit with a 10,000 barrel per day (bpd) capacity near Fort Stockton in Texas, US.
Towards the implementation of the project, the company appointed Trinity Consultants as its environmental consultant and VFuels as its design and engineering partner.
Now that the MMEX received approval for the air permit application, construction is expected to begin soon.
Trinity Consultants Gulf / South region operations director Brian Burdorf said: "Receiving approval within a 30-day time frame is a noteworthy accomplishment that Trinity was pleased to spearhead.
“We are pleased to be working with MMEX and VFuels on this important new project and look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional results."
Construction at the refinery project is expected to be completed within 15 months from the date of commencement.

The refinery has a planned capital expenditure of $450m and is estimated to have an input capacity of 50,000bpd.
It is expected to cater to wholesale and retail markets in the US, Mexico, Central America, and South America.

The company is focused on the acquisition, development and financing of assets in Texas, Peru, along with other countries in Latin America.
