UK-based Oxifree Global will exhibit its new Polymelt Service Gun (SG1) for the oil and gas industry at the forthcoming Offshore Northern Seas (ONS) in Norway.

The SG1 will allow asset owners to  fill in small areas of Oxifree TM198 coating, which have been removed for the purpose of carrying out inspections and making maintenance in the field easier.

The newly-developed Oxifree TM198, Oxitape and the new SG1 will be used to tackle the global corrosion epidemic, which is a costly challenge for asset owners.

Oxifree Global managing director Ed Hall said: “We are delighted to be showcasing the SG1 on our stand at ONS this year for the first time.

“After consultation and feedback with our clients and representatives, it was clear there was a need for a compact, lightweight solution for small coating touch ups.”

"It was clear there was a need for a compact, lightweight solution for small coating touch ups."

With the help of the SG1, end users will be able to remove small amounts of coating material to do visual inspections of the substrate and undertake inspections.

Later on, they can reapply material without moving around a large unit.

The thermoplastic, organic, self-lubricating Oxifree TM198 coating for the protection of metal components, was developed by Oxifree to help reduce the cost of maintenance.

TM198 is helpful for extending the lifecycle of components and cuts maintenance costs by at least 40%.

Ed further added: “Oxifree’s unique TM198 coating and Oxitape offer unbeatable protection against corrosion.”
