International oilfield services provider Petrofac has secured a front-end engineering design (FEED) modification contract for KOGAS Akkas’ Nasiriya gas treatment plant (GTP) in southern Iraq.
Under the contract, Petrofac needs to carry out the modification and application of an existing field design to meet the needs of the plant.
In addition, the company is required to undertake an estimation in connection with the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) expenditure consistent with the revised design requirements.
The development follows the company securing a contract extension and a new award to provide construction management, engineering, commissioning and start-up services for two international oil companies in Iraq in July this year with a total value of $100m.
“KOGAS is a new client for us in a core market and we look forward to further developing our relationship through the successful delivery of this scope.”
Petrofac Engineering and Production Services East senior vice-president Steve Webber said: “This award is testament to our engineering design capabilities, as well as our deep understanding of the market and supply chain in Iraq.
“KOGAS is a new client for us in a core market and we look forward to further developing our relationship through the successful delivery of this scope.
