US-based RigNet has been selected to deliver remote offshore communications services to an unnamed Southeast Asian offshore drilling and production assets operator.
Under the terms of the contract signed with the company, RigNet will provide managed remote communications solutions on the company’s mobile offshore production unit (MOPU).

The solutions include telephony, network support and on-board crew WiFi service, and a fibre-optic backhaul that will connect the client’s headquarters to RigNet’s teleport in Singapore.
RigNet’s Global Network Operations Center will manage the network monitoring and support with in-country support services provided on their offshore site based on the requirement.
