Solimar Energy has confirmed large oil reserves through an independent evaluation of its Kreyenhagen project in the San Joaquin Basin in California, US.
The evaluation, which was prepared by Sproule Unconventional, was limited to Solimar’s lease holdings, and was contiguous with the historic Kreyenhagen oilfield area, which is recognised by the California Division of Oil and Gas and Geothermal Resources.
Sproule has estimated recoveries in the range of 10%, 35% and 60% for the Temblor heavy oil reservoir under steam stimulation, which is equal to 30.8 million barrels, 47.9 million barrels and to 79.1 million barrels, respectively.
The scoping level estimates for total petroleum initially in place in the Kreyenhagen Shale are 21.7 million barrels, 35.9 million barrels and 59.4 million barrels.
