European and African focused upstream company Sound Energy has commenced drilling of the second well at Tendrara, Morocco.
After the recent success of the first Tendrara well (TE-6), a sub-horizontal appraisal well was spud in August on the TE-725.
The objectives of the TE-7 well include demonstrating the advantages of sub-horizontal drilling and proving sufficient gas volumes and deliverability to enable finalisation of the field development plan and concession application.
The TE-7 is approximately 830m to the northeast of TE-5 and 1.6km from TE-6.
Drilling is planned to reach a total measured depth of 3,440m, with tools being used to geo-steer the well at an 88° angle inside the Trias Argilo-Gréseux Inférieur (TAGI) reservoir to ensure a horizontal drain of between 600m and 900m.
The sub-horizontal section will run to the north, parallel to the minimum horizontal stress observed in TE-6.

By GlobalDataTE-7 is expected to follow three phases. The first involves drilling and logging for approximately 54 days, which is followed by completion and stimulation for approximately 30 days. The final phase will include clean-up and initial well testing for up to 10 days.
Sound Energy expects to announce the well's final results after the initial well test. An extended well test will follow for around 70 days to confirm production sustainability and to aid comprehensive field development planning.
