UK-based Sound Energy has completed drilling of the first well on Tendrara project located onshore Morocco.
The well has been drilled to total depth (TD) at a measured vertical depth (MVD) of 2,665m and has identified a total gross pay of 89m.
Sound Energy is now preparing for 4.5in tubing for the purpose of testing the well.
Initially, the company identified the Trias Argilo-Gréseux Inférieur (TAGI) reservoir starting at a depth of 2,535mMVD, 12m structurally higher compared to what was identified in the previous TE5 well.
The company confirmed the geological depositional continuity of the TAGI sandstones within the area and also identified significant gas shows while drilling the reservoir.
Sound Energy further plans to process the full set of acquired logs.
The rig is now planned to be de-mobilised from the TE6 location and moved to the already prepared TE7 site on stand-by.
The company will later go ahead with the planned rigless operations to mechanically stimulate the reservoir, followed by a well test.
Drilling of the first well at Tendrara commenced in April this year.
The rig-up was completed on 15 April, while the well was spud on 20 April 2016.
Tendrara has current resource estimates suggesting 310.5Bcf recoverable gross contingent resources and 145.8MMboe of prospective resources.
Sound Energy owns a 55% stake in the project.
