Tap Oil has started drilling the offshore Hannah-1 commitment well in the Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia.
Hannah-1 is located in permit TP/8, 18km east of Barrow Island, and will be drilled to a water depth of 16m.

The well will test a stratigraphic oil play in the lower Cretaceous Barrow Group by the jack-up rig Ensco 104.
The primary target will be intersected at 1,200m, whereas Hannah-1 will take ten days to reach a final total depth of 1,368m.
TP/8 joint venture participants include Apache Northwest with a 68.5% interest, Kufpec Australia with 19.3% and Tap (Harriet) with 12.2%.
