France-based Technip has won an engineering services contract to carry out work at Statoil’s Valemon gas and condensate field, which lies in the Norwegian North Sea.
The contract was awarded by Samsung Heavy Industries.
Technip will be responsible for the design, procurement engineering and follow-on engineering support for the Valemon fixed platform topsides.
The contract will be executed by Technip’s operating centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will be completed in the second half of 2012.
The Valemon field contains recoverable reserves of approximately 206 million barrels of oil equivalent.
