Norway-based Ulstein Group has unveiled designs of two new heavy lift DP3 vessels for the offshore market, which have a large open deck space and the capacity to accommodate 350 and 500 people respectively.
The new Ulstein HX103 and HX104 heavy lift vessel designs feature heavy-lift capability with large outreach, and are fully SPS-compliant.

With the launch of the Ulstein HX heavy lift vessel designs, the company said it has focused on combining good DP capabilities with small installed power and good DP lay-out.
This is expected to reduce the overall environmental footprint of the vessel.
The company is offering the modern vessel alternative for the maintenance markets in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and West Africa.

According to the company, the HX103 design has been optimised for DP2 capability, and includes a main crane of 1,000t with 26m outreach revolving capability, and 320t with 68m outreach.
