Upstream Production Solutions (Upstream PS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GR Engineering Services, has signed an agreement to support Origin Energy’s A$24.7bn ($18bn) Australia Pacific LNG project in the Surat Basin, South Western Queensland.
Upstream PS will provide wellsite, gas production and water treatment facility maintenance and major works to support APLNG’s operations and maintenance activities.
The contract has an initial two-year term and can be further extended by another year.
Under the contract, Upstream PS will complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and associated services for a minimum of 1500 wells.
The company will also provide services for seven gas processing facilities, nine water gathering systems and two water treatment facilities, as well as one pre-treatment facility.
Over the first term, the contract is expected to generate revenue of approximately $50m in total.
Upstream PS managing director Joe Corvetti said: "We commend our Queensland team’s strong track record of performance since having commenced maintenance activities with Australia Pacific LNG in August 2014, which has led to the award of this additional CSG-LNG Contract.
"Upstream PS is proud to be playing a role in this transformational project for Origin and Australia Pacific LNG."
APLNG is a joint venture project between ConocoPhillips (37.5%), Origin Energy (37.5%), and Sinopec (25%). The project commenced production in December 2015 and will convert CSG to LNG.
LNG vessel Methane Spirit carried the first natural gas from the project’s LNG facility in January 2016.
