Carribean LNG

Wison Offshore & Marine has secured a contract to provide a second floating LNG (FLNG) liquefaction unit to EXMAR.

The contract includes an option to provide two additional FLNGs.

Under terms of the contract, Wison will provide engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) services for the FLNG, which will be built at the company’s fabrication facility in Nantong, China.

The self-contained FLNG barge has a liquefaction capacity of 0.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and 20,000m³ of LNG storage.

The FLNG, which is expected to be completed in 2017, will allow EXMAR to provide a reliable LNG production facility to its customers compared to a land-based solution.

"The self-contained FLNG barge has a liquefaction capacity of 0.6 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and 20,000m³ of LNG storage."

EXMAR CEO Nicolas Saverys said: "It is clear that lower oil and gas prices will continue to boost demand for cost-efficient and fast-track FLNG solutions over land-based liquefaction terminals.
