In December 2015, PetroRio obtained approval from the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis – ANP) on the assignment of rights concerning the acquisition of 40% stake from Maersk Energia in the Polvo Field.

The company now owns a 100% stake in the field.

Following the receipt of approval, the company said it will invest in the field redevelopment and in enhanced oil recovery.
