Belgium-based NHV Group has secured a new long-term offshore contract to provide helicopter services to Dana Petroleum’s central and northern assets at North Sea.

Under the five-year contract, NHV will operate daily flights from its base in Aberdeen, Scotland to Dana’s Triton FPSO located in the Central North Sea and its Western Isles FPSO in the East Shetland Basin.

NHV plans to use the H175 aircraft, Airbus Helicopter’s Super Medium type, for this project.

Dana Petroleum UK operations manager Martin Lawson said: “Dana is pleased to award NHV with a five-year aviation support contract that will provide us with the most up to date aircraft available.

“We are confident that NHV will deliver our aviation requirements across our North Sea assets in a safe, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose way.”

The deal creates multiple employment opportunities at the Aberdeen base, which will see addition of a new H175 aircraft to support the contract services.

NHV said that H175 is specially designed to cater to growing mission needs in the oil and gas sector.

NHV base manager Jamie John said: “We are delighted that Dana Petroleum has selected NHV to provide helicopter services to their North Sea operation.

“A brand new H175 will be added to our Aberdeen base and has created a number of new employment opportunities. The start of this contract also allows us to showcase the capabilities of the H175, in what will be its longest range scheduled flight in support of the Western Isles FPSO.”
