Italian oil and gas service provider Saipem has secured multiple onshore engineering and construction (E&C) contracts worth an aggregate amount of $800m in different jurisdictions.
The awarded contracts are in Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Mexico, Iraq and Nigeria.
The company has received a procurement and construction contract from Saudi Aramco in relation to the ‘South Gas Compression Plant Pipelines’ project for the development of the Haradh gas plant (HdGP) in Saudi Arabia.
Aramco is undertaking the project under the Southern Area Energy Efficiency Programme.
Under the terms of this contract, Saipem is required to construct pipelines of various diameters and an overall length of more than 700km.
The system of pipelines includes flowlines, trunklines, and transmission lines, as well as associated facilities that are intended to transport gas from various points of storage and distribution inside the plant.
ExxonMobil Iraq awarded a contract to the company for the DS6 project for the debottlenecking of the West Qurna field, in the south-east of Iraq.
Debottlenecking involves plant optimisation in order to increase its overall capacity.
To be carried out over a 23-month period, the ExxonMobil contract works will be executed in Saipem’s Rumahila fabrication yard.
Saipem’s subsidiary Saimexicana has obtained a further contract to perform certain works at Mexican oil company Pemex’s ‘Miguel Hidalgo’ refinery located in Tula de Hallende.
The scope of work involves restarting a residue hydrodesulphuriser in order to reduce the sulphur levels in products derived from oil refining applications.
Pemex intends to comply with environmental regulations through the works.
A Saipem-led joint venture that also includes Chiyoda and Daewoo has won a FEED contract from Nigeria LNG (NLNG).
The contract also comprises the preparation of the EPC proposal for the seventh train (NLNG T7) in Nigeria, which is part of the expansion of the existing LNG plant in Finima on Bonny Island.
Another contract secured by Saipem is for engineering services and obtaining approvals for construction work pertaining to the laying of pipelines to facilitate the gas transportation to Serbia.
