Sapura Energy’s drilling arm, Sapura Drilling, has secured multiple contracts valued at approximately RM3.2bn ($722.5m) for tender assist drilling rig (TADR) services.

The contracts have been secured from PTTEP Energy Development, Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, ExxonMobil and EnQuest.

Sapura Drilling has secured two contracts from PTTEP Energy Development for its TADRs, Sapura T-17 and Sapura T-18.

The two projects are due to start in the second quarter of 2026 (Q2 2026), initially running for five years, with the possibility of a three-year extension.

Additionally, Sapura Drilling has secured a contract extension from Chevron subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company for the deployment of the Sapura Jaya rig.

This extension, effective from November 2024, will last for a year until November 2025.

Sapura Drilling has also been awarded a contract from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia for Sapura Berani drilling rig services.

The project, starting in Q1 2026, involves development drilling for a period of 30 months.

Furthermore, a contract has been secured from EnQuest Petroleum Production Malaysia for Sapura Esperanza rig services.

Expected to commence in Q1 2026, the contract covers the drilling of four development wells offshore Malaysia.

These contract wins have strengthened Sapura Energy’s order book to a total value of RM8.7bn, while its joint ventures hold an order book valued at RM5.7bn.

Alongside the drilling contracts, Sapura Energy’s Engineering and Construction division has also been awarded several significant projects across different regions of the world.

These include a pipeline installation in Brazil and an asset removal project in Australia, further contributing to the group’s overall order book.
