Sapura Energy Berhad, an integrated oil and gas services and solutions provider, has secured nine contracts worth MYR1.8bn ($448m).

This takes the total value of contract wins to-date to MYR4.5 ($1.12bn) for the group.

This combined value of the contract wins indicate a three-fold jump or an increase of around 250% compared to the value achieved in the same period of February to June of the previous year.

The group, through its units, will undertake series of several jobs across the upstream chain in Malaysia, Australia, India and Mexico.

In Malaysia, Sapura Drilling Asia will provide its semi-submersible self-erecting tender assist drilling rig, Sapura Berani, and drilling services from Petronas Carigali for three wells in offshore waters.

Additionally, the company has secured an extension of its contract with Sarawak Shell Berhad/Sabah Shell Petroleum Company for the provision of its semi-tender assist drilling rig Sapura Esperanza.

This contract was combined with an additional assignment by Shell to EQ Petroleum Production Malaysia Limited (EnQuest). Sapura Esperanza will be used for one well for Shell in F14, offshore Sarawak and two wells for EnQuest at the Seligi field in Block PM8, offshore Terengganu.

Sapura Fabrication has also won a contract by its wholly owned subsidiary, Sapura Exploration and Production (Sarawak) to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for SK408 Larak and Bakong Development Project. These fields will be developed as two separate wellhead platforms linked back to the current processing facility and the Petronas MLNG complex in Bintulu.

The firm acquired a contract from Sarawak Shell Berhad to provide EPC for SK408E Gorek Development and F6 Brownfield Integrated Module Project. Under this contract, it will provide EPC works for the Gorek wellhead platform and the new Brownfield Integrated Module on the F6 processing complex.

Sapura Energy Australia received a contract from PTTEP Australasia (Ashmore Cartier) to provide Riserless Light Well Intervention services for three wells located in the Montara development area of Timor Sea.

Sapura Fabrication will also take up Subsea Wells and Pipeline Replacement Project V for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation in India. Under this contract, Sapura will be responsible for the laying of subsea pipelines, installation of umbilical and topside modification at the platforms.

Furthermore, Sapura Offshore has won an engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning contract from Sikka Ports & Terminals in India.

Under this contract, Sapura will be responsible for residual engineering and supply of equipment and materials for Berth A2 and modification of Berth D (additional Mooring Dolphin) at the Marine Terminal, Jamnagar, state of Gujarat. Construction, erection, installation, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning services will be carried out by Sapura Engineering & Construction (India).

In Mexico, Sapura Mexicana has won a contract for EPC of a gas-oil pipeline from PP-Ayatsil-B platform to E-KU-A1 platform (line 16) in the Gulf of Mexico for PEMEX Exploration and Production Mexico.
