
US-based oilfield services company Schlumberger has launched the ‘Performance Live’ service that optimises remote wellsite operations control and improves safety, efficiency and footprint.
Performance Live is a digitally connected service that delivers real-time operational data and insights for enhanced performance.
With technology and domain expertise included within a digital ecosystem, the service leverages Cloud-based applications and data workflows automation through a secured data network.
According to Schlumberger, the new service provides customers with instant data access and cooperation with domain experts, providing faster and informed decision making for directional drilling, well logging, and other oil and gas operations.
Schlumberger Services and Equipment executive vice-president Hinda Gharbi said: “Performance Live service transforms the customer experience, enabling higher levels of operational control.
“Downhole technology is ready to run with data instantly available to the decision maker, without that person having to be on location.”

By GlobalDataThe oilfield services firm noted that Performance Live is used by over 60% of the company’s well drilling jobs worldwide.
Schlumberger said: “In wireline operations, the Performance Live service covered more than 12,000 runs worldwide including more than 230 reservoir and well integrity evaluations offshore Norway in 2019.”
In January this year, Schlumberger sold its 49% interest in the Bandurria Sur Block in Argentina to Shell Argentina and Equinor.
In December 2019, the company announced that it plans to commit to greenhouse gas emissions reduction programme to meet science-based targets initiative (SBTi) in line with the Paris Agreement to reduce climate change.
