Sercel and Fotech Solutions have launched a collaboration to develop future borehole seismic and distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) monitoring technology.
Under the partnership, Fotech Solutions will offer DAS measurement solutions and Sercel will contribute downhole seismic tools and software for subsurface seismic operations.
The collaboration is aimed at delivering new technology developments for both the borehole seismic exploration and microseismic monitoring markets.
Fotech Solutions CEO Chris Shannon said: “Benefitting from the expertise and worldwide reputation of Sercel’s seismic acquisition technology offers Fotech a great opportunity to demonstrate all the benefits that our fibre-optic monitoring technology can bring to the market.
“The borehole seismic industry will soon be able to take advantage of this partnership between two key players that will break productivity and imaging records.”
Leveraging DAS technology and Sercel’s downhole seismic tools, the partnership intends to enable the borehole seismic industry to reduce operational costs, as well as acquire data more easily and overcome existing temperature limits.
