Saudi Aramco has awarded a contract to project management services company SNC-Lavalin for the installation of process equipment for the Wasit Gas Plant (WGP) in Saudi Arabia.

Under the deal, SNC-Lavalin will build a condensate handling facility and a sour water disposal unit at the plant.

Expected to be completed by 2019, work includes the installation of civil and structural infrastructure, piping, electrics and control systems.

SNC-Lavalin Oil & Gas president Christian Brown said: “SNC-Lavalin has an impressive track record of successful project delivery during our 40 years of working with Saudi Aramco and we are pleased to continue our long-term relationship on another important project.

“It emphasises our commitment to supporting Saudi Aramco’s IKTVA localisation programme.”

“Not only does this contract further demonstrate our industry-recognised onshore construction solutions, it also emphasises our commitment to supporting Saudi Aramco’s IKTVA localisation programme to increase the employment and skills development of local Saudi talent.”

WGP contributes to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic plan, feeding into the national master gas network that was set up to address the country’s domestic energy demand.
