Manufacturing and service provider Stork and its consortium partners have secured a four-year framework agreement for plant turnaround services by Ecopetrol.

A part of Fluor’s Diversified Services segment, Stork will provide turnaround services for Ecopetrol’s Barrancabermeja and Cartagena refineries in Colombia.

The two refineries will supply fuel to meet the country’s national and export product needs.

Flour booked this contract in the second quarter of this year. The value of this contract is undisclosed.

Stork president Taco de Haan said: “Stork is extremely pleased that Ecopetrol has awarded this new turnaround contract that includes these two important refineries.

“The ongoing partnership with Ecopetrol has grown over the years due to mutual trust and collaboration and is built upon both companies’ commitment to safety, integrity, excellence and teamwork.

“Stork will apply its full portfolio of professional solutions as part of this contract, including a range of innovative products and techniques.”

Stork will act as international lead partner for the Colombia-based consortium. Rampint will serve as the local partner in Barrancabermeja while Servimant will act as the local partner in Cartagena.

According to Stork, its local offices at Barrancabermeja and Cartagena will lead the contract work, which is expected to start in September.

The scope of contract work includes providing turnaround and maintenance services on the plant process units during the scheduled shutdown periods at the plant.

The contract also includes emergency works and other preventive and corrective maintenance services. These services will support Ecopetrol with further refinery performance optimisation.

Since 2013, Stock has been carrying out turnaround maintenance services for the Barrancabermeja refinery. The company’s portfolio comprises operations, maintenance, modifications and asset integrity solutions.
