Subsea 7 has secured a substantial contract from Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN) for the production uplift pipeline projects (PUPP) in shallow water offshore Nigeria.

Subsea 7 consider a substantial contract to be between $150m and $300m.

As per the the contract, the company will be responsible for engineering, construction, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning of 20km of 24in Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) pipeline between the Idoho Platform and the terminal onshore, as well as 2km of 24in CRA pipeline between the Edop and Idoho Platforms. It will also be responsible for associated topside modifications and tie-ins at both ends.

Engineering and procurement works will commence immediately at NigerStar 7’s offices in Lagos. Offshore operations will be undertaken from the third quarter of this year to the first quarter of next year, using Seven Antares, the Subsea 7 vessel.

NigerStar 7 is a non-wholly owned subsidiary of Subsea 7.

Earlier this week, Subsea 7 completed the purchase of Siem Offshore Contractors and two vessels, the inter-array cable lay vessel Siem Aimery and the support vessel Siem Moxie from the Siem Offshore Group.

Following the completion of the deal, Siem Offshore Contractors became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Subsea 7 Group.
