Drilling waste management company TWMA has secured a contract from bp to provide its services in the UK North Sea.

The three-year agreement, which began in October 2024, comes with an option for renewal.

According to TWMA, the contract underscores its ability to deliver solutions that support operators in meeting their operational and sustainability goals.

This contract will see TWMA deploy its “cutting-edge” technologies, such as the RotoMill, to process drilling waste at the well site in a “safe and efficient” manner.

The RotoMill technology is claimed to minimise the need for waste transportation, maximise recycling and reuse, and cut down costs while boosting operational efficiencies.

TWMA chief executive officer Halle Aslaksen said: “This renewed contract with bp is a significant achievement for TWMA and highlights the strength of our innovative drilling waste management solutions and the trust leading operators continue to place in us.

“It underscores the value of our expertise in delivering results for the UK North Sea region and reinforces our commitment to supporting bp in achieving its operational goals.”

Last month, TWMA secured a three-year contract with TotalEnergies UK. This contract represents a continuation of the long-term relationship between the two companies.

Following a call for tender, the contract was awarded to TWMA. This contract commenced in October last year and features an option for extension.

It was awarded to minimise waste, enhance resource recovery and reduce the environmental footprint of drilling operations using the RotoMill technology.

On the receipt of the contract, TWMA group commercial director Jonathan Parkes said: “This contract award is a reflection of the close collaboration and trust we have developed with TotalEnergies over the years.”
