The app was launched in 2012 and this marks its first major upgrade.
With the help of Wellsite Navigator, users will be able to search and navigate to more than one million oil and gas wells in 22 states, even when the wells are away from wireless coverage.
Active wells are updated in the app every month.
Wellsite Navigator CEO Josh Adler said: “Wellsite Navigator is the most widely used and trusted tool in the pocket of American oilfield workers. In today’s tough market, we knew we could do more to help our users do their jobs better, faster and safer.

By GlobalData“This relaunch is just the beginning of our investment in making Wellsite Navigator the leading logistics platform for the US oil and gas industry.”
The upgraded Wellsite Navigator enhances its user interface based on received user feedback. It will show all nearby wells and saltwater disposals, as well as rig locations in certain regions.
Through the updated version, users can now get Cloud profiles that allow them to save and share favourites across other devices.
Particularly, the Wellsite Navigator now updates the whole US’ satellite imagery for every five days, instead of relying on Google imagery that is often outdated in the remote areas where the app users work.
Wellsite Navigator said in a statement: “Navigating unmapped and ever-changing private lease roads is one of the most challenging aspects of oilfield work. With five-day satellite updates, Wellsite Navigator will do even more to help users get where they need to go quickly and safely.”
