ABL has secured a contract to deliver marine warranty survey services for the phase four development of the Kamose offshore gas field, located in the Mediterranean Sea off Egypt’s Eastern Nile Delta.

The contract is intended to support the offshore construction of phase four.

It has been awarded to ABL’s Egyptian operation by North Sinai Petroleum Company (NOSPCO), the operator of the Offshore North Sinai concession.

Under the contract, ABL is responsible for reviewing and approving all project documentation, procedures, drawings and calculations linked to the development. The company will supply marine assurance and risk services for the proposed fleet, including dynamic positioning (DP) trials and related consultancy.

Additionally, ABL will provide on-site attendance during transportation and installation (T&I) operations to witness and approve all warranted activities associated with phase four offshore facilities.

The Kamose phase four project entails constructing and installing three new offshore production platform monopods, namely Hoor-1&2, Snefru-1 and KSE-1. Phase four also involves drilling three wells through wellhead platforms.

Production from these wells will be connected via an 11km flowline to the existing network, linking new infrastructure to the main offshore pipeline and integrating with the mobile offshore production unit already operating at Kamose.

ABL Egypt country manager Tamer Gamil said: “ABL Egypt brings together local competence, marine experience, engineering expertise and expert process safety engineering to provide a comprehensive offering that will support the safe and optimised delivery of T&I operations for Kamose Phase 4. We look forward to supporting NOSPCO on this important development for Egyptian offshore gas.”

ABL operates as part of Oslo-listed consultancy group ABL Group. The company launched its Cairo office in 2018 and reports a market share of around 90% for marine warranty survey and DP services in Egypt.

In July 2025, Petroleum Marine Services (PMS) was selected to carry out execution work on phase four of the Kamose gas field development.

PMS was tasked with installing three new offshore production platforms – Hoor, KDE-1 and Snefru – along with deploying three offshore pipelines to connect these platforms with the current production network.
