Archer lands three-year wireline extension on NCS from Equinor

The contract extension follows an initial integrated wireline agreement from 2021, with Archer delivering services across Equinor assets.

Archer, a well services company, has secured a contract extension for three years to provide wireline and intervention services for Equinor on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

The extended contract has a total value of around Nkr3bn, with approximately half allocated to Archer and the other half to its alliance partners.

It follows an initial integrated wireline agreement from 2021, under which Archer and its partners have delivered services across several Equinor assets.

The original framework allowed for three optional two-year extensions, but the current development constitutes a fixed three-year period. This arrangement ensures continued service provision and operational planning for the parties.

Archer CEO Dag Skindlo said: “This contract extension reflects the strong and long-standing relationship we have built with Equinor. We are pleased to continue supporting Equinor’s operations and consider this agreement strategically important for Archer.

“It provides long-term visibility to our business, reinforces the strength of our alliance model, and demonstrates the trust placed in our people, technology and service quality.”

Last month, Archer won a three-year contract extension for wireline services from an undisclosed operator under a long‑term frame agreement. Based on activity levels in 2025, the contract is expected to generate annual revenue equivalent to approximately 7–9% of total Well Services revenue.

Meanwhile, Equinor and its co-licensees recently concluded drilling operations at the Skoll and Hati prospects east of the Visund field in the Norwegian North Sea, without making any hydrocarbon discoveries.

The campaign involved the drilling of the 34/8-A-37 H wildcat well in production licence (PL) 120. The well was drilled nearly 140km west of Florø and 4km east of the Equinor-operated Visund A platform.
