Cardinal Midstream Partners, a midstream energy company, has completed 36 miles of large‑diameter natural gas-gathering pipelines across Eddy County, New Mexico, and Loving County, Texas, US.
These pipelines include both high and low‑pressure lines.
The company said this addition takes its owned and operated natural gas infrastructure in the core of the Delaware Basin to around 150 miles.
The Delaware Basin is considered a major oil and gas-producing area in the country.
Cardinal Midstream also unveiled an expansion project at its Pecos River Processing Complex in Loving County.
Expected to be completed in early 2026, the project is set to add 220 million cubic feet per day (mcf/d) of natural gas processing capacity.
This move will increase the company’s total natural gas processing capacity to 360mcf/d and allow room for further increases if required.
Cardinal Midstream Partners CEO Doug Dormer said: “The Delaware Basin continues to see unprecedented growth with production expected to increase for years to come.
“These significant expansion projects provide high-quality energy infrastructure that ensures reliable midstream services for our customers’ future development.”
Cardinal acquired Medallion Midstream Services’ Delaware Basin gathering and processing assets in 2023, a package that included around 80 miles of high and low-pressure gathering lines and a 140mcf/d processing facility.
Since that transaction, the company has carried out several pipeline and compressor station expansions to serve its customer base.
Medallion Midstream’s Midland Basin operations cover roughly 1,200 miles of regulated and non‑regulated crude oil-gathering and transportation pipelines.
In 2022, Cardinal obtained an initial capital commitment of $300m from EnCap Flatrock Midstream.
